Whale sharks are actually one of the few animals that give live birth. they don’t lay eggs. Whale shark babies look just like their parents except they are much much smaller than adults. Whale sharks have 100 eggs inside them but only some turn into babies so extra eggs are eaten to keep the ons that hatch alive inside their mothers. Whale sharks have an average of 12 babies alive at 60 meters long when first born. Once Whale sharks are born they grow so fast their first couple of years that predators barely have time to eat them before they get too big for them to eat. Growing whale sharks inside their mom are 42-63 cm that's small for a whale shark. An adult whale shark can be 25 x’s as long as a newborn.
